2020’s Can’t Miss Cannabis in Calgary Events

At the risk of reducing ourselves to a total cliché, we really believe that knowledge is power. As experts in our industry, the Mountain View Cannabis team has seen first-hand how important it is to be educated on the industry and bring awareness to the general population who might still be ignorant to all the benefits that have come along with legalization and the Cannabis industry.  With that in mind we’ve been keeping an eye out for any cannabis-centric events coming to Calgary and found several that we think everyone, from industry pros to regular Joes, can enjoy.

Cannabis Expo:

When: March 28 & 29, 2020

Where: BMO Centre, Stampede Park

Calgary, AB

What: The Cannabis Expo brings together industry experts, leaders and consumers in a two-day forum that showcases advancements in technology, and uses research to authenticate benefits synonymous with cannabis use.

Why you should go: Why wouldn’t you go is the better question.

  • If you’re working in the industry it’s the perfect opportunity for you the get your name out there and network with other industry professionals and stay current on the latest and greatest advancements in Cannabis.
  • If you’re a consumer, it’s a one-stop shop where you can educate yourself, get to know all the options available to you and mingle with like-minded people.

Canadian Cannabis Summit

When: TBD- But it we assume it will be around the same time as last year, so earmark your calendars for some time around May or June

Where: Calgary, AB – Location TBD

What: This summit, mainly targeting industry professionals, takes place over two day’s right here in YYC! As the first of its kind in Western Canada, it’s a conference geared towards connecting and educating entrepreneurs, business owners, policy makers, health practitioners, investors and industry experts. A must-attend if you’re considering or actively participating in the business side of the industry and worthwhile event for those who want to learn more about the cannabis.

Why you should go: You’ll be hard pressed to find this much cannabis knowledge under one roof anywhere else. The wide array of attendees and vendors, which includes everything from law enforcement and political policy makers to growers, gives you frontline access to every answer you’re looking for about the cannabis world.

Cannabis Industry Networking Opportunities

When: Dates range from late February to the end of March

Where: Calgary, AB – Locations vary

What: We have to give mad props to the Alberta Cannabis Council for their efforts to connect and educate the public on Cannabis. They’ve curated a list of reputable change makers to give individuals the opportunity to meet other with common goals within the Cannabis space. Sessions include educational and instructional workshops, informational events and even a cannabis-focused e-commerce photography course.

Why you should go: Ending the stigma surrounding the industry starts with you. Legalization marks a very pivotal moment in history. With every person who chooses to educate themselves on cannabis we get one step closer to eliminating any negativity surrounding the industry.

Cannabis and mental health workshop

When: May 29, 2020

Where: Royal Hotel Calgary, Calgary, AB

What: Canadian phycologist Zach Walsh discusses the benefits cannabis consumption can have on cognitive functions and mental health. This one day workshop introduces industry evangelists to the science behind the healing properties of cannabis.

Why you should go: You can’t learn this in school. Literally. Dr. Walsh discusses the findings of his cutting-edge research and clinical studies that you wont’t find in any textbook.
